MAYNARDVILLE (WATE) – Former Knox County Schools security officer Kevin Waggoner was sentenced Friday to 18 years in prison for second degree murder, which he must serve in its entirety.

Waggoner was convicted at a retrial in August of shooting his neighbor, Michael Woodby, in 2013. His first trial in September 2015 was declared a mistrial after the jury deliberated for around 12 hours, then said they were hopelessly deadlocked and more time would not render a verdict.

The Waggoners and Woodbys, who lived across the street from each other, had been feuding for years. They recorded their encounters with each other from their yards. The nearly 180 hours of footage was used as evidence in the trial.Previous story: Former Knox County Schools security officer found guilty of murder
